INTRODUCING A ROGUE DISCLOSER
Lines of research 1-5.
Isaac (pseudonym) is a rogue discloser, reporting his experience in the 1980's as a Department of Defense scientist, with a background in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He worked on a 'civilian contractor' research program to reverse engineer ET artefacts into commercial products.
This is not an unqualified endorsement: I would like to encourage you to read his stuff and make up your own mind.
Because his site can seem somewhat inaccessible unless you are a graphic designer or engineer yourself, the lines of socalled CARET research will be described briefly in this thread. C.A.R.E.T. stands for Commercial Applications Research for Extraterrestrial Technology.

Lines of research 1-5 (you'll see them popping up repeatedly all through this topic!):
1) A field generator, ET origin, that produces one or more convex fields. It can generate an anti-gravity field around a flying disk that protects against weather and ballistic weaponry. It assembles the parts of the disc and maintains its shape. It can provide smaller extra fields for opening a doorway or isolating any selected object. Photograph provided.
2) A personal generator, from a presumably more advanced alien source, miniaturized to the point it can generate an anti-gravity field for one person. As well as for larger loads/aircraft etc. No photograph on site.
3) A programming language compatible with these fields, using limitless combinations of symbols/'words'/grammar (=socalled combinatorial language) to control the various operational modes of a field. Imagery of language offered on Isaac's site.

4) Curved beams, that fly into a fixed position when the field generator is functional in assembly mode. They are presumably a small remnant of a whole flying disk. Photograph is provided on the site.
Flying disks have, according to Isaac's info. Rigid Spatial Relationships(RSR) are described in chapter 4.2.3. (Report page 4).
The Palo Alto Caret Laboratory provided Isaac's team with two curved beams (seen on Report Photo 4.2 and 4.3 among others). Switching on the field generator (Report Photo 4.1) in socalled Component Mode causes them to fly into a fixed position, RIGIDLY connected to the generator and each other (photo shown in figure 4.4, on Report page 9). They are not connected by rivets, adhesives or welding etc., but when pushed/pulled behave as if they are one single object, hence the term Rigid Spatial Relationship. Visually the beams appear to be freely suspended in space.
First the beams. They differ from let's say a couple of bricks. These are disk components that 'know' their correct position within total disk structure, responding to commands from the field generator. GO THERE. STAY IN POSITION. My guess is the beams were part of a small (but very robust) containment chamber for the generator.
The field generator has a Component Mode, that when turned on, assembles ALL components in their designated positions, and then maintains them there. Thus the entire disk is swiftly constructed, like bees coming together in a swarm. Included are hull, flight controls (excepting generators), internal structures, and how they function together.
My assumption is a chain of command as follows. The alien Mission Commander/Disk Builder selects Component Mode. The generator creates the desired field. Thousands(/millions?) of parts respond by assembling and the resulting disk then maintains its shape. The disk now is ready to carry out any task given by its pilot, and fly a crew into space. Until a new Mode is implemented, perhaps affecting shape, or even causing partial/complete disassembly.

SOFT WORDS
According to rogue discloser Isaac, he and his collegues got to work on a language of extra-terrestrial source, that could be used for the assembly and operation of an anti-gravity field generator and two curved beams, presumably parts of a flying disk.
But it turned out not a language really, rather a 'functional blueprint' (Isaac's wording). Simply put, the language builds a flying disk, and directs its flight. It's disk programming SOFTWARE we've got here, folks.
HARD BLOCKS
The generator + 2 beams are sample parts of the full set of 'smart' building blocks, needed to create the disk. Here's the smart bit: each building block contains information about where exactly it has to fit in the construction. It also has been prepared to function as part of specialized machinery or structure on board. And it is compatible with both a 'special field' (Isaac's description) and the alien programming language. Alien visitors can use the language to instruct each building block (and the whole disk) to do what they want. So let's call the beams, all building blocks, the entire disk: HARDWARE.
Time to roll in the 'anti-gravity field generator'! Yes, it's part of a flying disk's ready-to-go building set. If you were kind and patient enough to follow this thread's explanations, you already are deciding to call it alien hardware. Dare we turn it on now?
Alien commands speculatively translate into [SELECT[ON][OFF][SYSTEM]] [SELECT GENERATE FIELD[TYPE][NUMBER][LOCATION]] [SELECT FLIGHT[TRAJECTORY][DESTINATION][personal code][AUTOPILOT ENGAGED][MANUAL OVERRIDE]] [SELECT SHAPE[DISK][CILINDER][SPHERE][DOME][ELVIS][personal code]] etc. etc. I wouldn't be surprised there is a particularly complex string of symbols meant to flush the toilet.
FIELDER'S GAME
Obviously, the generator's job is to produce 'fields'. The nature of such fields remains highly classified, and discloser Isaac wisely doesn't set out to harm the U.S., a tiger whose tail you don't want to pull. Neither does this girl fancy a next-door-to-Osama cavedwellers' existence in the mountainous Afghan-Pakistan border region!!
Anyhow, one type of field, termed 'special field' by Isaac, facilitates communication between the flight crew and overall disk operation. Here goes. Powering up the generator, the special field is turned ON. A sequence of symbols is selected to visibly run across the entire disk hull and supporting structures. (translation) [SELECT SHAPE[SPHERE]]. This command is read by the special field, which transmits it to the generator, which exerts a force repositioning each relevant building block + the thin foil-like hull into the new sphere-shape. Lo and behold....A SPACE BALL!. It's as easy as Richard Dreyfuss manically forking a blob of mashed potato into the shape of Devil's Mountain (scene from 'Close Encounters of The Third Kind' Spielberg directs).

USE THE FORCE, LUKE
What then is a 'special field'? As an invisible, non-material means of programming-data transmission, it reminds me a lot of software. But, as a (strong) force, actively moving/holding building blocks in place it just as easily could be categorized as hardware. Something in between then? I name it alien FORSEWARE, acknowledging its multi-purpose qualities like sensing/reading/transmitting programming language, as well as keeping an alien spacecraft in one piece, using force.
FORSEWARE is a composite of:
Forschen(verb, German) = to find out, to research
Force = a power producing change of movement on a body on which it acts
To foresee (I will explain that in a moment)

We are not looking at The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Venusian edition, with Glossary and Holographic scenes, by Zaaak, intergalactic translator. Sorry, no alien bestseller here. The symbols, and sequences of symbols, activate the assembly and operation of a disk. Logically, the various round shapes represent groupings of machinery (including flight controls), the space-ship's functions, disk structure, and hull. Connecting lines indicate how these interact/communicate. Without further ado, the diagram is (part of) a Flight Manual.
READING THIS, NOW REMEMBER EVERY WORD YOU JUST READ
Hard, hah? Most people fail at recalling text. The alien Flight Manual is designed to do this to perfection. It is 'entirely context sensitive' (Isaac's term), context in this case referring to the disk's complete operational and assembly history. NOT stored memory. But meaningfully connected, each 'letter', 'word', 'sentence', 'story' sensing every other. PERHAPS alien disks have minds, with perfect memory, like a kind of robot crewmember designed with Artificial Intelligence. Of course assessing the level of intelligence of a flying disk is speculative on my part! Based on the recording of disk history, I at least dare call the diagram also a Ship's Log.

The ‘alien diagram’, described as a on-board display fluidly streaming Isaac's language seems designed to use the past to understand the present, as well as study all possible outcomes.

Pet advice of TV-Psychologist Phillip McGraw, 'Dr. Phil'. I love this guy! There's something weird going on with the alien language=disk software=Manual+Log shown in the diagram.
I. It shows Fractal Geometric order. Meaning that the entire language, or any large chunk, or a single symbol all show one and the same pattern.
II. It runs mostly in cycles. A practical reason could simply be to give commands in unending loops, being relayed through the disk until countermanded. I want to go beyond that.
III. The language is 'combinatorial' (Isaac's description). Meaning it can be continuously expanded by adding original combinations of symbols. Expansion is limitless. Please keep in mind this is operational/assembly software. Not gibberish, or narrative!

All this must seem mindboggling to you (as it is to me), and in closing I'm gonna share my wildest 'devil take the hindmost' idea with you. All three abovementioned properties have one thing in common. THEY ARE PREDICTIVE. Fractal geometry predicts patterns. Cyclic language predicts repetitiveness/continuity. Combinatorial language creates new potentials (=new ways to operate/assemble a disk). Isaac's language seems designed to use the past to understand the present, as well as study all possible outcomes. I am guessing the disk is 'thinking' ahead, sees into the future, to optimize flight, keep the crew+passengers alive and protect the mission.
That we are studying it now, in bits and pieces, may mean it made a fatal mistake.
